Child Dedication

What is child dedication and why does the church dedicate children?

Child dedication is truly parent dedication.  This church ritual focuses on the future responsibility of the parents and the congregation in bringing children to an understanding of salvation. Dedication celebrates God’s gift of the child to the parents, not God’s gift of salvation to the child.

What are the requirements to participate at KCC?

We ask that you have made a commitment to KCC as your home church by attending at least ten times.  A top priority in JAM is to equip and involve parents as spiritual leaders of their families.  We see Child Dedication as simply a first step in the process of a parent making a commitment to bringing up their child in a Christian environment.
Attendance at a Child Dedication class is mandatory before dedication takes place.  (Class participation is required only once.)  The class information will be given to you at the time of registration.

When are the next Child Dedications scheduled?

  • Saturday, June16 and Sunday, June 17 at both services
