We are greatly anticipating when can we physically come together again at the Kentwood Campus! Due to safe distancing requirements for Phase 2, church will look a little different. We will be following health and safety guidelines for our area.

We know that some may not be ready to gather in person, and we honor your decision! As of Sunday, July 5, we will continue to offer online services at 10:00 a.m. on our Livestream page, in the My KCC App and on our Facebook page, and hope you will join us online until you are comfortable returning to in person services.

We can't wait to be together again!

Details on this page are specific to our Kentwood Campus. Please visit our Wyoming Campus page for details on re-entry for that location.

Below you will find more details on how we can work together to stay healthy while on campus during Phase 2 of our return!

Frequently Asked Questions | Phase 2

Will I be required to wear a mask in order to attend? Will my child?

We want everyone to stay healthy, so wearing a mask is required to enter the building. Our staff and volunteers will wear masks to protect our more vulnerable attenders. We encourage you to wear your personal mask if you have one, but will have a limited supply of disposable masks available. If you have health concerns that make it difficult to wear a mask, please plan on attending online until Phase 4 of our return.

Will there be specific entrances and exits to use?

Yes. For your safety we will limit the number of entrances. Please plan to enter the building at either door I, J, K or L. On Sundays, the Worship Center entrances will be opened 25 minutes prior to worship.

How will we ensure that safe distancing is practiced in the Worship Center Atrium and Lobbies?

We encourage guests to go directly into the worship center and find their seats. Doors throughout the building will be propped open. We want to make the experience as touch-free as possible and will not have any printed materials distributed. We will not be handing out Family News. Global Grounds will be closed and coffee will not be served. Outer restroom doors will be propped open and restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized regularly. At this time, we have determined that seating will be every other row, with at least 3 seats between groups from the same household. Ushers will assist you in finding a seat with safe distancing.

Will there be hand sanitizing stations available?

Yes! Hand-sanitizing stations are available throughout the building. We would greatly appreciate donations of hand-sanitizer if you are able.

How will attenders be dismissed to maintain safe distancing?

We will be dismissing by sections and ask that we all continue to practice safe distancing.

Will there be special seating for vulnerable attenders and family?

Yes! On Sundays, a specific section will be open for more vulnerable guests.

Will the building be cleaned and sanitized before we meet in person for the Sunday service?

Yes! KCC is committed to providing a safe and sanitary environment. All surfaces in the Worship Center will be sanitized before the service. Common areas, including restrooms, doors and surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized. Our cooling system is equipped with recently replaced filters and provides continuous fresh outside air, to be sure we are able to welcome our church family back safely.

How will we give our tithes and offerings?

We have multiple options for you to give in a safe and secure manner!

  • Give Online Here
  • Via Text - Text the word "Give" to 616.522.4175
  • In person by dropping your offering into the Giving Boxes available as you exit the Worship Center
  • By mail  - Contact the church office at 616.455.1740 to request business reply offering envelopes to be mailed to you directly

Will Classes and Small Groups meet?

Yes! Both have been meeting online, but in Phase 2, will also meet outdoors or in homes following guidelines recommended by our Kent County Health Department for safe distancing. Not connected to a small group yet? Contact us here to get connected!

Will Real Kidz be meeting?

We love your families and can't wait to open Real Kidz, however, we will not be offering Real Kidz in person until Phase 3 of our reentry plan. Real Kidz packets will be available on Sundays. Weekly videos and content for you and your KCC Real Kidz is being sent out each week through email and our Facebook page. Contact the church via email or at 616.455.1740 to be added to our mailing list.

What about student programming?

Both our middle and high school students are gathering outdoors Sundays at 6:00 p.m. (not meeting July 5) in the parking lot area outside groundzero and have a fantastic summer planned with activities observing safe distancing and utilizing online meetings. Connect with us on YouTube, Facebook!* or on Instagram: @studentsatkcc for more info!

Will KCC continue to provide church services online?

Absolutely! We will continue to share our Sunday service through Livestream here on our website, within the My KCC App and on our Facebook page at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday for those who are not yet ready to return in-person, are sick or can not physically attend.

What happens if someone was confirmed to have COVID-19 after attending a service at KCC?

If a guest has tested positive for COVID-19, the Kent County Health Department (KCHD) will interview the guest and notify KCC if needed. A KCHD exposure letter or email will be sent and KCHD will follow up with interviews and quarantines as needed. Learn more and stay up to date here.
