Community Support |

Update

Beginning Sunday, July 5, Phase 2 will begin with a return to meeting in the Worship Center for ONE SERVICE at 10:00 a.m. This will be our new service time starting July 5. Please review Phase 2 Guidelines for reentry here.

Thank you to all who have engaged with us in supporting our community! Together we have served hundreds of families with meals, care packages of health and hygiene items, blood donations and prayer! We celebrate how God has provided through your gracious donations and service.

As the stay-at-home ends we have seen a drop in need and therefore will be discontinuing food distribution and donation drop-off as of Tuesday, June 30. We are grateful to have met several families who have joined us for services, to have prayed over people in our community, and shared the love of Jesus, as many of you participated in these efforts!

Drive-In Services |

While we are greatly anticipating when can we physically come together and worship our Almighty and Awesome God, we want to be wise and safe in how and when we meet. Our KCC team has been prayerfully and creatively planning our return to campus. PHASE 1 of that return will be to gather for Drive-in Services at the Kentwood Campus on Sundays, at 10:00 a.m. and at noon. Please review the guidelines and plans so that we may safely worship together!

Donate Non-perishable Food & Hygiene Items !  |

You can respond to our community during this difficult time by showing God's love to our neighbors in a tangible way. Complete list of needed items here.

Special Announcement |

Versiti Michigan blood drive has been cancelled for Thursday April 2. The drive will be rescheduled and information updated soon. If you signed up for a slot, you will receive a call to reschedule once the date and details are set. Community donors have answered the call amid this growing crisis and we are happy to share, that our local hospitals are currently receiving the necessary lifesaving units. Versiti is in the process of setting up a new staff mode that will keep the same small group of staff working together throughout the community. This will further protect their donors and staff from exposure and spread of COVID-19. We apologize for the late cancellation. Please know your donation is important! God has a plan and a purpose. Please be praying for the staff of Versiti as they work through setting up their new staff mode.

Please contact us if you would like to help serve families in this way
  • Food distribution at our Wyoming Campus will take place on Wednesday, March 18 and Friday, March 20, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
  • KCC is collecting non-perishable items Monday through Friday, starting Tuesday, March 17, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A list of suggested items may be found here

Ongoing ministry updates:

  • Celebrate Recovery will not be meeting effective 3/23/2020
  • Midweek Oasis will not be meeting effective 3/18/2020
  • All other scheduled onsite classes, ministry activities & events are postponed effective immediately

(Approaching the Altar, Freedom Fighters, Multiethnic Conversations, Porter Women's Group and Woman's Life Connection are the only onsite groups meeting-subject to change)
  • Online services will continue to be shown via livestream at 9a on our website and Facebook Page
  • The KCC Staff would love to pray for you! Submit your requests here

As we live through these days, each one of us is affected in a host of ways. We know that God promises His faithfulness. We ask that you continue to be faithful to your tithe and offerings to KCC and give online here.

Because of Him, we are able!

We encourage you to stay connected with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and their recommendations:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • void touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing

Educate yourself, remember that FACT over Fear is critical as we live our daily lives

  • God did not give us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)

Once we resume meeting onsite for worship

  • If you are sick, please stay home and visit your primary care physician
  • We will continue our practice of regularly sanitizing our spaces between weekend gatherings
  • We are performing a deeper disinfectant cleaning in our kids' spaces and coffee areas
  • We are providing additional hand sanitizing stations and tissue boxes in high-traffic areas
  • Greeters and ushers will continue offering you a warm welcome on weekends; they will offer “air fives” or elbow bumps, but won’t be initiating handshakes, high-fives or hugs

Some “normal” operations will be revised to provide a lower risk of the spread of infection of any illness:

  • OFFERING:
We recommend that you give your tithe and offering online.  We will not pass offering plates during the service but will have them available on the way out of the auditorium
  • GREETING:
When we have a time of greeting during services, we recommend you greet each other with smiles and waves instead of handshakes
  • DOORS:
To minimize your need to touch door handles, our volunteer teams will hold exterior doors open to greet you.
  • COMMUNION:
We will not serve communion in our regular tradition when we observe the sacrament on Sundays. Instead, we will have prepacked individually wrapped elements for our communion times.

Online Services:

All services have been postponed until we can safely gather once again. Join us online instead:

Kentwood Campus | join us on our website or Facebook Page.
We will livestream our 9:00 a.m. service which is then available to watch at any time thereafter.

Wyoming Campus | join us through our Facebook Group
We will post a live session of the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service.

We will provide necessary updates as needed. We ask that you be prayerful for our world and community, specifically for those who are directly impacted by this virus.
